NFL Sunday Ticket Student Discount 2026: Price, Eligibility, and How to Get It
The regular price of NFL Sunday Ticket can be hard to justify on a student budget. If you are currently enrolled in college, though, there is a much cheaper option worth checking first.
For the 2026 season, YouTube is offering the NFL Sunday Ticket Student Plan for $119. That is substantially less than the current $240 new-user price for the standard plan.
There is a catch: the student version is designed for one person. You get one stream, no family sharing, and you have to verify your student status before you can buy it.
NFL Sunday Ticket Student Price in 2026
| What to check | Student Plan |
|---|---|
| 2026 price | $119 |
| Age requirement | 18 or older |
| Verification | SheerID |
| Concurrent streams | 1 |
| Family sharing | Not included |
| Auto-renewal | No |
The $119 price is the current student offer for the 2026 season. NFL Sunday Ticket pricing changes over time, so it is worth checking the official offer again before paying.
Who Actually Qualifies?
You need to be at least 18 and currently enrolled at an accredited college or university. YouTube uses SheerID to verify your student status.
One detail that is easy to miss: your school does not have to be in the United States. Students at eligible institutions outside the U.S. may qualify as well. However, you must be physically located in the United States when you purchase the Student Plan. It is not available in U.S. territories.
A .edu email address is not required. In fact, YouTube recommends using a personal Google account because some school-managed accounts restrict access to certain Google services.
If SheerID cannot verify you automatically, you may be asked for proof of current enrollment, such as a student ID with an expiration date, class schedule, or tuition receipt.
How to Sign Up Without Getting Lost
The student plan is purchased through YouTube Primetime Channels. You do not need a regular YouTube TV subscription first.
- Open YouTube in a web browser.
- Find the NFL Sunday Ticket Student Plan option.
- Start the student eligibility check.
- Enter your school and student information through SheerID.
- If additional proof is requested, upload your enrollment document.
- After approval, return to YouTube and complete the purchase.
On a phone, use a mobile browser for the purchase rather than relying on the YouTube app. Once the plan is active, you can watch through YouTube or YouTube TV on supported devices.
You may also see an option to add NFL RedZone during checkout. That is an extra option, so check the final price before you confirm the purchase.
What the Student Plan Does — and Does Not — Include
NFL Sunday Ticket is mainly for out-of-market Sunday afternoon regular-season games. In practical terms, it is useful when the team you want to watch is not being shown on your local CBS or FOX station.
For example, if you live in Chicago but follow a team whose Sunday afternoon game is not available locally, Sunday Ticket is the service that fills that gap.
It does not replace every NFL broadcaster. Preseason games, postseason games, locally televised games, nationally televised games, and some digital-only games are outside the normal Sunday Ticket package.

The biggest limitation of the student plan is not the game selection. It is sharing.
You are limited to one signed-in device and one concurrent stream at a time. Family sharing is not included. If several people in your household want to watch different games at once, the standard Sunday Ticket plan is a better fit even though it costs more.
Is the $119 Student Plan Worth It?
For an eligible student who regularly follows an out-of-market team, the math is fairly straightforward. The current student price is $119, while YouTube is advertising a $240 price for new users on the standard 2026 plan.
That does not automatically make the student plan a good buy for everyone.
If most of your team's games already appear on your local CBS or FOX station, or you mainly watch Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football, you may not need Sunday Ticket at all. The discount only has real value if you actually need those out-of-market Sunday afternoon games.
There are also two purchase terms worth knowing before you pay. The Student Plan is a one-time purchase and does not automatically renew for the next season. NFL Sunday Ticket purchases are also generally non-refundable.
So before checking out, confirm that your team is actually out of market often enough to justify the cost.
